The Golden Season
Oil, 30"T x 40"W. I painted this oil piece on the day my son returned from serving a two year mission for our church to Costa Rica. My heart was so full of joy and gratitude that morning as I ran errands to get ready for his return. When I drove past this field full of gathered-in haystacks, I simply had to stop, get out of my car, and walk into the fields to photograph the stacks. It was as if my joy and gratitude were displayed for all the world to see--right there on someone's farm. The field had been white, was threshed, and was safely gathered in. My boy was coming home, and had been happy to be teaching of Jesus Christ to other children of God. My mama heart was bursting with sunshine. This piece is aptly named, The Golden Season.
