Silky sand between the toes. Bright pops of fuchsia and the heady scent of wild roses along the coast. Walking in the cool shade interspersed with the burning hot patches of sand, baking in the sun. Then wading out into the refreshing icy water once the heat of summer grows too much.
Beach days ground us, and make time stop. Our phones die and we happily let them. Slathering sunscreen on children's shoulder's, noses, and ears is a welcome task. Beach-combing for sea glass, and keeping the sea gulls from stealing our sandwiches is the only work we do for those few hours. So grateful to live in a world where there are beach days to remind us to breathe, boogie board, hunt for treasures, and find sand dollars along the drift line--a reward for choosing to bond on the beach. So grateful for the Lord's stunning creations.
